Following upon the declaration of the National and Provincial election results by the Independent Electoral Commission on Sunday, 02 June 2024, I Dunstan Mlambo, the Judge President of the Gauteng High Court Division, as designated by Chief Justice in terms of section 110 of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa, 1996 hereby determine Friday, 14th June 2024 at 10:00, at Selbourne Hall Gauteng Provincial Legislature as the first sitting of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature.
In line with section 110 read together with section 111 of the Constitution, the Sitting is designated to consider the following items:
- Swearing in of Members of the Legislature
- Election of the Premier
- Election of the Speaker
- Election of the Deputy Speaker
- Election of the Chairperson of Committees
- Election of the Deputy Chairperson of Committees
- Designation of Gauteng Permanent Delegates to the NCOP
- Resolution on the Gauteng mandate on the election of the Chairperson and Deputy
