Honourable Mosupyoe’s political journey began when she was elected as a member of the South African Civic Organisation (SANCO).
She was later deployed to SANCO’s health desk, where she worked with health professionals in the family medicine section at the then Ga-rankuwa Hospital.
She also served as a Ward Committee Member for Ward 31 for five consecutive years.
She was elected as the City of Tshwane’s Ward 31 Councillor for ten consecutive years – where she also served as a member of the Rules and Ethics Committee.
She also served as the Chairperson of the Water, Sanitation and Energy Sub-committee at the South African Local Government Association (SALGA), while a Councillor in the City of Tshwane.
She was deployed to serve as a Member of the Mayoral Committee (MMC) responsible for Health and Social Development in the City of Tshwane and was also part of the Committee on Social Economic Cluster during the same period.
She was elected as Tshwane ANC’s Branch Deputy Chairperson for one term; Branch Deputy Secretary for two consecutive terms; Zonal Secretary for two consecutive terms; Zonal Chairperson for two consecutive terms; as well as the ANC Women’s League’s Deputy Chairperson for one term.
While serving as Chair of the Zonal Committee, she was recognized by the ANC as the best performing zone and awarded a certificate during the 2009 National and Provincial elections, and again during the 2011 local government elections.
She was deployed as the first female speaker of the City of Tshwane, a position she held until the end of her term in 2016. This role saw her serving as a member of the Gauteng Speakers’ Forum (GSF), Chaired by the Speaker of the Gauteng Legislature.
She was also elected to the ANC’s Regional Executive Committee in the City of Tshwane for two consecutive terms, where she also served in the Regional Working Committee.
Prior to her deployment into the Gauteng Executive as MEC for Economic Development, Agriculture, Environment and Rural Development, she served as Chairperson of the Gauteng Legislature’s Portfolio Committee on Social Development.
She is currently a member of the ANC’s Provincial Executive Committee (PEC), and also serves on the Provincial Working Committee (PWC) of the ANC in Gauteng.
Outside of her political career, she served as a board member of Sizani – a Catholic Church based community center in Bronkorhspruit.
The mother of three enjoys reading and hiking, and lives by the life motto: ‘Do all the good you can’.
