GAUTENG DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT TO PRESENT TO PORTFOLIO COMMITTEE ON PROGRESS OF EARLY CHILDHOO DEVELOPMENT FUNCTION SHIFT BY THE PROVINCE
The Gauteng Provincial Legislature’s Portfolio Committee on Social Development will convene a hybrid meeting on Friday 12 November 2021. The Gauteng Department of Social Development (GDSD) will present progress made this far on the migration of the early childhood development function to the Gauteng Department of Education in the province. This stems from an announcement made by the President in the SONA 2019 and subsequently by the Gauteng Premier in the SOPA 2019.
The GDSD is also expected to present its annual report for the 2020/21 financial year in the same sitting where various stakeholders have been invited to be part of the public meeting taking place at the Johannesburg City Hall.
The event will also be streamed live on the Gauteng Legislature’s You Tube and Facebook pages from 10am, Friday 12 November 2021.
