Objectives of the study

• Study the model of early childhood development (ECD) and its contribution towards social transformation
• Review the current capacity at funded ECD centres
• The programmes offered through ECD and the relevancy towards social transformation
• How this programmes feeds into the Education system and ensures smooth development of the child
• The challenges that prohibit ECD from meeting the requirements as set out in Section 79 of Children’s Act 38, 2005
