The Acting Speaker of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature, Hon. Bishop Dulton Adams, delivered a powerful keynote address yesterday, 19 March 2026, at a Leadership & Mentorship programme in Ward 102, City of Johannesburg.

The event, a joint initiative by the Growing Without A Father Foundation and the Chair of Chair Sub Forum of the Gauteng Speakers Forum, focused on breaking the cycle of absentee fatherhood and providing a support system for fatherless children and single mothers.

Key Highlights & Commitments:

Focus on Behavioural Change: Hon. Adams called for a shift beyond just government programmes against GBV and drug use. He urged communities to focus on moulding positive behaviour and using mentorship to groom young boys into responsible citizens.

“Lend Your Parenthood”: In a clarion call to Gauteng residents, he encouraged everyone to act as custodians of a better South Africa by offering their “motherhood and fatherhood” to children without parents.

Intensified Oversight: He committed the Legislature to stricter parliamentary oversight, ensuring the Provincial Government delivers on its promises to provide social and welfare services to the elderly, children, and people with disabilities.

National Unity: The Acting Speaker offered a prayer and well wishes for Bafana Bafana as they prepare for the 23rd edition of the FIFA World Cup 2026.
