The Gauteng Department of Economic Development and one of its entities, the Gauteng Gambling Board is expected to appear before the Gauteng Legislature’s Standing Committee on Scrutiny of Subordinate Legislation (CSSL) on Friday, 3 November 2023.
The CSSL Committee in the Legislature is responsible for scrutinising subordinate Legislations and Regulations to ensure that they are consistent with the Constitutions of the country as well as to ensure that these Legislations and Regulations are carried out timeously and as intended.
The purpose of the meeting on Friday, is to allow the Committee to scrutinise laws that are currently regulating the Gambling Sector in the Province and allow the Board to account on some of the measures put in place to ensure the effective implementation thereof.
