Presiding Officers of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature (GPL) visited Kgosi Mampuru Correctional Centre in Tshwane and Boksburg Correctional Centre accompanied by 60 learners from various schools across the Gauteng province as part of the GPL’s Nelson Mandela Month social responsibility campaign.
As representatives of the citizens of the province, the Presiding Officers seeks to reinforce values of non-racism, equal rights, reconciliation, an end to poverty and safety for all citizens. The Presiding Officers will interact with inmates and speak to learners about the importance of respecting the law and making wise decisions as future leaders and drivers of change.
