COMMITTEE JOINS RESIDENTS OF SOWETO IN CALLING FOR THE SPEEDY ARREST OF THOSE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE MURDER OF TWO BOYS
The Gauteng Provincial Legislature’s Portfolio Committee on Community Safety joins the residents of Soweto in calling for the speedy arrest of those responsible for the abduction of three learners and the subsequent brutal murder of two.
The Committee has learned, with great dismay, of the abduction of three learners from Isiseko Primary School in Soweto on the 19 April 2023 which led to two of them being brutally murdered with some of their body parts missing.
Though at this stage the motive of the abduction and gruesome murder is unknown, the Committee remains concerned that in this day and age, there are still people in our communities who can still commit such heinous crimes, especial against children who are amongst the most vulnerable in our society.
The Committee calls for law enforcement agencies to act swiftly in bringing those responsible to book and face the full might of the law through the establishment of a dedicated team of capable men and women who will work tirelessly to arrest these culprits.
Perpetrators of this gruesome act should be taught the harshest lesson and be made an example that in this country such horrible acts of crime will not be tolerated.
The Committee calls for any members of the community who might have information that can lead to the arrest of these culprits to bring this to the attention of law enforcement agencies.
The Committee further wishes to extend its condolences to the families of the deceased learners and commit its support to following up on this matter until the perpetrators are arrested.
