In its endeavour to strengthen the oversight function of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature and continue supporting the institution in achieving its mandate through providing research support and engaging in constructive debate on current issues, the Gauteng Provincial Legislature’s Research Unit aims to host a Brown Bag session under the topic: “Evolving coalition governance in South Africa: dimensions, lessons and prospects” presented by Prof Susan Booysen.
The Brown Bag session aims to attract and host diverse inputs from multifaceted backgrounds inter alia politicians from different parties in the Legislature, political analysts, academics, youth and experts from academia and research institutions, as well as the staff of the Legislature. The session will capture the current state of discourse in an attempt to shape the role of legislatures in a constitutional democracy.
